Meet the Man Behind the Music
David Snow, our Creative Director and Head Composer- is a respected, long-time music industry veteran with decades of experience working as a songwriter, multi-instrumental producer, session man, mix engineer, chordal jazz guitarist and an all around musical wiz “kid”. His resume’ and career spans decades, encompassing everything from indie artists, to latin Super Stars. He has made records for companies like SONY/BMG, ARISTA, EMI, Univision, and Warner among others.
With an uncompromising attention to quality, authenticity, and feel, David’s songs and productions form the basis of this incredible music library. The tracks alone are worth their weight in gold, and the full songs show the craft of songwriting at it’s finest.

OUr honorary “FOUNDER”-BEBOP
“From two men having a beer, came a plan within a year…thanks to a mischievous lil’ french bulldog named “Bebop”.

The “HipKat Music” story begins on a gorgeous Hermosa beach summer day in 2017. Southern California at it’s finest!
And the two “Dave’s” that would eventually form HipKat Music… David Katzoff and David Snow, along with their lovely wives Lisa and Lucky, were about to meet at a picturesque Hermosa Beach restaurant for food, drinks, and a small celebration of Dave Snow’s birthday.
Little did they know, a small adventure was about to begin.
Having arrived first, Dave Snow and his lovely wife “Lucky” were also accompanied by the aforementioned lovable little French bull dog … “Bebop”.
Just as the Snow’s were starting to relax in the So Cal sun, their rambunctious little dog “Bebop” decided it was time to eat, of all things, … a Bumble Bee!
(It’s just what dogs “do”).
When David and Lisa Katzoff arrived, they were greeted by an enthusiastic little French bulldog who’s swollen lil’ face looked like a boxer who had just gotten the short end of a 10 round championship fight!
Being it was Dave Snow’s birthday, Lisa Katzoff, lover of all things “dog”, volunteered to trek up the hill to the local CVS for some medicine for the embattled little Bebop, “deputizing” Dave’s wife Lucky to tag along.
This left the two Dave’s alone to fend for themselves. And it was here we find the nexus of what would become HipKat music.
With the wives gone on their Bebop rescue mission, the two “Daves” got to talking, and it soon became apparent that a very special opportunity was starting to reveal itself…
*** The Birth of HipKat ***
A Publisher was needed! A CEO! Someone with business and administrative acumen. Someone who could get neglected gems of music OUT into the world at large.
And here was David Snow, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and most importantly, purveyor of Little Hipster Music; a production company sitting on a small mountain of absolutely fabulous material, 30+ years worth, with no time to properly promote it.
Children’s Music; Rock; Pop; Melodic Movie themes and Pianistic love songs; songs written with famous co-writers, songs written with talented indie artists… even songs and tracks written and produced for artists such as Barbara Streisand, Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias Jr, even K.C. and the Sunshine Boyz.
Hearing of all of this wonderful but sadly, unexploited music, David Katzoff saw a great OPPORTUNITY! Not only was Katzoff a talented musician and songwriter himself, but he was also a full time founding partner of a highly successful company himself. Katzoff knew he was the “missing piece” to the puzzle of musical gems hidden in the Little Hipster music library.
And thus, in the time it took their two lovely wives to complete their medical first aid mission for “Bebop” the “Bee lover”, Katzoff had resolved that he would form a new Music Library based off of all Dave Snow’s great music and more! All those musical gems, finally made available to the music world at large, under the watchful eye of new Hipkat CEO David Katzoff. Whether for film and tv licensing; records, or whatever adventures lie ahead.
And there you have it. From the serendipitous adventures of a little dog named Bebop, and an unhappy little Bumble Bee who’s name we’ll never know, a Music Library was formed. And a very special Music Library at that! A Music Library who’s incredible potential emanates from an intense commitment to Quality, craft and excellence in songwriting.
Formed from Dave Snow’s Little HIPSTER Music, and new HipKat CEO David Katzoff ‘s vision to create an ultra high Quality Music Library, we bring you…
